How to Use This Calculator

Enter the current pot size (before your opponent's bet), the bet you need to call, your number of outs (cards that complete your hand), and which street you're on. The calculator shows your pot odds, required equity to break even, and whether calling is a positive or negative expected value play.

Understanding Pot Odds

Pot odds are the ratio of the current pot size (including the bet you need to call) to the size of the call itself. If the pot is £80 and you need to call £20, your pot odds are 4:1 — you need to win 1 in 5 times (20%) to break even. If your equity exceeds the pot odds percentage, calling is +EV.

The "rule of 4 and 2" is a quick mental shortcut: multiply your outs by 4 on the flop (two cards to come) or by 2 on the turn (one card to come) to get an approximate equity percentage. This calculator uses the more precise formula for accuracy. Always consider implied odds and opponent tendencies alongside raw pot odds.
