Find out exactly how much you need to wager to clear a casino bonus — and what you can expect to lose along the way.
—
Enter the bonus amount and the wagering multiplier shown in the casino's terms (e.g. 35x). Set the game contribution percentage — slots typically contribute 100%, while blackjack and roulette often contribute only 10–20%. Input your average bet size and the house edge for your chosen game, then click Calculate.
A wagering requirement (also called a playthrough requirement) is a condition attached to casino bonuses. It specifies how many times you must wager the bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings derived from it. For example, a £100 bonus with a 35x wagering requirement means you must place £3,500 in bets before cashing out.
Not all games count equally toward the requirement. Most casinos count slots at 100%, live casino games at 10–20%, and some games are excluded entirely. The game contribution percentage directly multiplies how much actual play you need to do — a 50% contribution on a 35x bonus effectively doubles the required bets to 70x the bonus amount.
The expected loss is calculated by multiplying the total real wagering needed by the house edge. This is the statistical amount a player is expected to lose while clearing the wagering requirement. A high house edge or low contribution percentage can turn a seemingly generous bonus into a loss-maker.
