How to Use This Simulator

Set your starting bankroll, bet per hand, and number of hands to simulate. Choose a strategy — basic strategy is the mathematically optimal way to play blackjack, resulting in a house edge of around 0.5%. Random decisions roughly double the edge, while the never-bust strategy (always standing on 12+) gives the house an even larger advantage. Click Run Simulation to see your bankroll trajectory.

About Basic Strategy

Basic strategy is a set of optimal playing decisions for every possible hand combination against every dealer upcard. It was mathematically derived using computer simulations of billions of hands and reduces the house edge to approximately 0.5% in standard rules. Memorising basic strategy is the single most impactful thing any blackjack player can do.

This simulator approximates the outcomes using the expected win probability per hand for each strategy type, combined with realistic variance modelling. Each hand result is randomly sampled — so run the simulation multiple times to see the full range of possible outcomes for your chosen parameters.
