When we get something wrong, we correct it quickly, transparently, and with full acknowledgement.
FreeTips is committed to accuracy. Despite our best efforts, errors occasionally occur. When they do, we correct them as quickly as possible, in a transparent way that does not mislead readers about the original content. We do not silently edit, delete, or obscure errors — all material corrections are noted on the page.
Factual corrections are applied when we have published a verifiably incorrect fact — a wrong statistic, an incorrect odds figure, a mislabelled team, or a false claim. A correction notice is added to the article noting what was changed and when.
Clarifications are used when original content was not wrong but could have been clearer or more precise. A clarification notice is added.
Updates are applied when circumstances have changed since publication — for example, a team's injury status or a bookmaker's offer terms. Updates are noted with a date.
Retractions are rare and used only when content is substantially incorrect or should not have been published. Retracted content is replaced with a retraction notice explaining why.
All corrections are displayed prominently at the top of the relevant article, in a clearly labelled "Correction" or "Editor's Note" box. The original incorrect text is not preserved (to avoid re-spreading the error), but the correction notice explains what was changed. Corrections are also noted with the date they were made.
We do not delete articles that contained errors — the corrected article remains at its original URL. We do not alter publication dates to obscure when content was changed.
If you believe you have found an error in our content, please contact our editorial team with the following information: the URL of the article containing the error; the specific claim or statement you believe is incorrect; the correct information and any supporting evidence or source. We review all good-faith reports and aim to respond within 3 working days.
When an error report is received: a senior editor investigates the claim within 24 hours (or the next working day); if the error is confirmed, the correction is applied and the page is updated; if the report is not upheld, we respond to the reporter explaining why; all confirmed corrections are logged in our internal corrections register.
Corrections arising from our own internal review process follow the same procedure. Significant errors affecting multiple pages or representing systemic failures are reported to editorial leadership and addressed in a post-mortem review.
