We take complaints seriously. Here's how to raise a concern with FreeTips and what happens next.
You can submit a complaint to FreeTips via our Contact Us page. Please select "Editorial Complaint" or "Other Complaint" from the subject dropdown. In your message, please include: a clear description of your complaint; the URL or date of the content concerned (if applicable); what outcome you are seeking; your contact details so we can respond.
All complaints are acknowledged within 2 working days of receipt. We aim to provide a full response within 10 working days. Complex complaints may take longer — we will keep you informed of progress.
We can investigate complaints relating to: editorial accuracy and fact-checking; editorial independence and conflicts of interest; our responsible gambling standards and messaging; our privacy practices and data handling; complaints about specific writers or staff members; and our use of cookies and tracking technologies.
We cannot investigate complaints relating to the conduct of third-party bookmakers (please contact the bookmaker directly or the UKGC), or complaints about outcomes of bets (FreeTips is not a bookmaker).
Complaints are initially reviewed by our editorial manager. If the complaint relates to content, it is reviewed alongside the relevant articles and editorial process records. If the complaint relates to conduct by a staff member, it may involve a separate HR process. We apply the same standards to complaints from readers as we do to those from industry figures or organisations.
Where a complaint is upheld, we take appropriate action — which may include issuing a correction, updating content, amending editorial policies, or taking action regarding staff conduct. We will communicate the outcome to you.
If you are not satisfied with our response to an editorial complaint, you may refer the matter to IPSO (the Independent Press Standards Organisation) if we are a member, or to another relevant ombudsman or regulatory body. For data protection complaints, you may contact the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) at ico.org.uk.
